While I am Waiting
I stand on the edge, unaware
if it’s the end of my beginning
Facing the abyss painted so black
I wish I was just dreaming
When no eyes were looking back at me,
I lay staring up at the sky.
With every last cloak that I wear
I only fall through as I try to fly.
I sleep, pretending I am alright
Between the gallows and the gate
But feet after feet, it pulls me and I drown
In the dark waters of my fate.
Another day between the soil and the sky
An emptiness, a void, a heaviness and a sigh
I wish you would have made through that day
Because I just fail to hear that goodbye.
